My Oral Communications professor was telling us in class that we should consider switching majors to Mass Comm and Print Media because you can get a job right out of college. So what? I can graduate of college and get a job in the hospital system or with the Department of Health or with a county school system. Anyone can get a job right out of college. I know so many people who have graduated college and started working immediately that weren’t Mass Comm. I don’t see how you can claim that this major is one of the few that you can immediately get a job with.

I am choosing not to enter the work force and go to graduate school because I want to go on to bigger things. I have high aspirations. I will not be able to reach many of those goals with further education beyond my Bachelor’s degree. As a college graduate, there are many entry-level jobs available, but what about the positions above that? Is it wrong to not want an entry level job and work towards having a career higher up the pyramid? I don’t think so.
